Description
The Raspberry Pi Active Cooler is a clip-on active cooling solution designed specifically for Raspberry Pi 5. It combines a single-piece anodised aluminium heatsink with a temperature-controlled blower fan to provide effective thermal management during sustained high CPU workloads. Powered and controlled via the Raspberry Pi 5 four-pin fan header, the Active Cooler integrates seamlessly with the board’s thermal management system. The variable-speed blower fan uses PWM control with tachometer feedback to dynamically adjust cooling performance in response to system temperature, helping to prevent thermal throttling while minimizing noise. The Active Cooler mounts directly onto the Raspberry Pi 5 PCB using spring-loaded push pins that engage with the dedicated mounting holes. Pre-applied thermal pads ensure reliable thermal contact and efficient heat transfer between the Raspberry Pi 5 and the heatsink. The low-profile design allows the cooler to be fitted easily without additional tools.
The Raspberry Pi Active Cooler is intended for permanent installation and is recommended for applications that place sustained thermal demands on Raspberry Pi 5, including continuous operation, overclocking, and CPU-intensive workloads.
