A buzzer or beeper is an audio signaling device, which may be mechanical, electromechanical, or piezoelectric. Typical uses of buzzers and beepers include alarm devices, timers and confirmation of user input such as a mouse click or keystroke. Passive Buzzer
This buzzer is a passive buzzer, which means that it requires an oscillating signal to produce sound. Active Buzzer
This buzzer is an active buzzer, which basically means that it will buzz at a predefined frequency (2300 ±300 Hz) on its own even when you just apply steady DC power.
