Description

Your child is curious about how technology works. Help them discover what they can create.

If your child loves robots, gadgets, building things, figuring out how things work—or simply keeps asking “What happens if I do this?”— RoboQuest gives them a place to explore that curiosity through real hands-on robotics.

Instead of only watching technology on a screen, your child will learn to program, test, control, troubleshoot and improve a real robot.

This Training Class for KIDS includes:

This Isn't Just Another Coding Class

In many beginner coding activities, everything happens on the computer screen.

In RoboQuest, your child's code comes to life in front of them.

They write a program. They send it to their robot.

The robot moves. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't.

Then they figure out why, make a change, and try again.

CODE → TEST → THINK → IMPROVE

That process is at the heart of robotics—and one of the most valuable parts of the RoboQuest experience.

One Child. One Robot. Every Session.

This is one of the most important differences in RoboQuest.

Every student gets a dedicated AlphaPi Buggy to use during class.

Your child won't spend most of the activity waiting for another student to finish programming.

They get to:

✅ Write the program
✅ Download it to the robot
✅ Run the experiment
✅ Test the sensors
✅ Make mistakes
✅ Change the code
✅ Try again

Because the best way to learn robotics is to actually do robotics.
The AlphaPi robots are provided for use during training and remain CreateLabz training equipment.

Every session includes a CreateLabz RoboQuest Mission where students apply what they learned on real tracks and physical challenges.

👨🏫 Guided Small-Group Coaching

An instructor is there to demonstrate, ask questions, help troubleshoot and encourage the child to find solutions instead of simply giving them the answer.

🏆 RoboQuest Championship & Parent Showcase

Students finish Level 1 by putting their skills together in a multi-stage robotics challenge.
Parents get to see what their child has learned and created.

🎓 Certificate of Completion

Students who complete the program receive a: CreateLabz RoboQuest – Level 1: AlphaPi Robotics Foundations Certificate of Completion

🌏 Pathway Toward Robotics Competitions

Students showing continued interest can progress through future RoboQuest levels and may have opportunities to prepare for and participate in suitable local and international robotics competitions.

Competition participation depends on event availability, age/category eligibility, team selection and any separate registration/travel requirements.

From Curious Kid to Young Robot Programmer

RoboQuest follows a carefully structured progression.
Your child doesn't start by being asked to build something complicated.
Each new skill builds on the one before it.

The 8-Session RoboQuest Level 1 Journey

SESSION 1

🤖 Meet & Control Your Robot

Mission: Wake Up Your Robot

Your child meets the AlphaPi Buggy and learns how software communicates with a real robot.

They explore:

  • connecting and programming the robot
  • 5×5 programmable LED display
  • RGB lights
  • motors
  • speed control
  • wireless control
  • basic robot movement

By the end of the session, they'll already be making their robot move and respond to their commands.

From: “How does this robot work?”
To: “I made it move!”

SESSION 2

🏎️ Smart Driving & Steering

Mission: Precision Driver Challenge

Children discover that a robot doesn't steer like a normal car.

They learn:

  • left and right motor control
  • differential steering
  • forward and reverse motion
  • programmable lights
  • buzzer/sound
  • movement sequences

Then they put those skills to the test on a physical driving challenge.

SESSION 3

👀 Robot Eyes: Line Tracking

Mission: Autonomous Track Challenge

For the first time, the robot starts making decisions using sensors.

Students learn how the AlphaPi detects a black line underneath it and how programming conditions tell the motors how to respond.

They explore:

  • line-following sensors
  • IF conditions
  • loops
  • sensor-based steering
  • autonomous movement

Then:

Hands off the controls.

Their robot must follow the track by itself.

SESSION 4

📡 Robot Radar: Obstacle Avoidance

Mission: Don't Crash!

How can a robot know there's something in front of it?

Students explore ultrasonic sensing and learn how a robot can measure distance and react.

They program behaviors such as:

Detect → Stop → Warn → Reverse → Turn

The goal:

Make AlphaPi avoid an obstacle without the child controlling it.

SESSION 5

🧠 Robot Memory: Variables & Time Attack

Mission: AlphaPi Time Attack

Now the programs become smarter.

Students learn the idea of a variable—a simple way for their robot program to remember information.

They use variables and timers to:

  • keep track of information
  • measure time
  • display values
  • create cleaner programs

Then they race against their own previous performance.

The objective isn't simply to go faster.

It's to:

Test → Measure → Improve

SESSION 6

🗺️ Advanced Autonomous Navigation

Mission: Delivery Robot

Now AlphaPi needs more than sensors.

It needs memory.

Students learn how the robot can:

  • count intersections
  • remember where it is
  • choose different directions
  • adjust motor speed
  • navigate toward a destination

Instead of controlling every movement, students program the decision-making rules.

SESSION 7

🚧 Intelligent Obstacle Navigation

Mission: Escape the Maze

Students combine distance sensing with more advanced programming logic.

Their AlphaPi must navigate an obstacle course by making programmed decisions.

They explore:

  • turning-angle control
  • distance thresholds
  • combined conditions
  • autonomous obstacle decisions

The challenge becomes:

Can your robot figure out how to get through?

SESSION 8

🏆 RoboQuest Championship

Mission: Build the Complete Intelligent Robot

Everything comes together.

Students combine:

Line Tracking + Sensors + Obstacle Avoidance + Decisions + Autonomous Navigation

They also learn to organize their programs into reusable behaviors so their robot can switch between different modes.

Then comes the final:

CreateLabz RoboQuest Championship

A multi-stage robot mission where students demonstrate what they have learned throughout the program.

And this time, parents get to watch.

Learning That Feels Like an Adventure

One reason RoboQuest is especially suitable for younger learners is that the AlphaPi curriculum isn't presented like a traditional lecture.

Children encounter:

Characters

Stories

Missions

Challenges

Programming Activities

Quizzes

Physical Robot Maps

A lesson might begin inside the story...

...move into the programming environment...

...then finish with the child's actual AlphaPi robot moving across a physical track.

The lesson starts on the screen. The learning comes alive on the table.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. My child has never programmed before.
Perfect. Level 1 is designed for beginners, and concepts are introduced progressively using visual programming and guided activities.

2. Will this be too difficult for a 7–11 year old?
The program uses story-based lessons, visual coding and hands-on challenges rather than starting with complicated programming syntax.
Students receive instructor guidance throughout the class, and every mission can be adjusted to the learner's pace.

3. Is this basically playing with a remote-control car?
No.
Remote control is only where the program begins.
Students progress into programming the robot to use sensors, follow lines, detect obstacles, remember information and navigate increasingly complex courses autonomously.

4. Does my child need to bring a robot?
No.
CreateLabz provides the AlphaPi Buggy during every session.
And unlike many group activities: Every student has a dedicated robot to work with during class.

5. Does my child take the robot home?
No. The AlphaPi Buggy is professional training equipment supplied for each student's exclusive use during class. The fee is for the complete guided learning experience.
If you somehow decide to purchase the robot, it is available for purchase separately.

6. What does my child need to bring?
Please bring a laptop and its charger for your child.
CreateLabz will provide the AlphaPi robot, training maps, robotics materials, learning platform, and guided activities used during the sessions.
Each student will work on their own laptop and have a dedicated AlphaPi robot during class, allowing them to code, download their program, test the robot, make changes, and try again at their own pace.
No laptop available? Please contact us before registration so we can check whether a loaner device is available.
